Pros

A recent focus on design and innovation has created a work environment that is both fun and exciting. Great benefits. Positive and fun work environment. Ability to telecommute. No dress code. Commitment to diversity in the workforce.

Cons

Process for promotions and job leveling is unclear. Frequent reorganizations make it difficult to establish and maintain strong manager/employee relationships over time. Employee goals and achievements can be overlooked during managerial transitions.

A changing culture

Pros

Very smart, talented people who care about the customer. Strong well-established brand names like TurboTax, Quicken and QuickBooks. Outstanding benefits program and very competitive salaries.

Cons

The culture has moved from a very open or "transparent" style to a much more closed door, directives from the top. Sometimes there is a need for this type of management style, especially in times of economic challenges. The issue is that the decisions made are cascading differently by different managers, don't necessarily make sense to people and there is no one to turn to for explanation.
