Pros

Intuit, Inc. provides business and financial management solutions for small and medium sized businesses, financial institutions, consumers, and accounting professionals primarily in the United States and Canada. These solutions are foundational for end-users and thus positions Intuit well in this difficult economic time, as evidenced by its recent positive Q2 earnings report. Intuit provides a great work environment by: 1. Clearly and consistently messaging company goals and priorities 2. Demonstrably valuing employees 3. Promoting a strong company culture centered around integrity and respect

Cons

1. Trying to be more innovative; not there yet 2. Highly consensus driven, slowing decision making

Pros

Because software is Intuit's bread and butter, they respect and value their engineers and architects, unlike some other non-software companies. Although there is some drudgery, for the most part the work is interesting and there are opportunities to learn new things. It is a comfortable place to work and the stress level is lower than most other places I have worked. For instance, it is unusual to have to work evenings or weekends.

Cons

Sometimes the large company culture can be a little impersonal. The way each project is managed is really up to the individual managers, so your experience can be quite different, depending on what project you are on. Some are wonderful. Some are awful. There isn't a lot of bleeding edge work going on, if that is what you crave. In an effort to recruit new talent, sometimes they treat their interns better than their employees.

Pros

The company culture actively solicits and requires managers to respond to employee feedback. It's nice to work for a company that cares. Benefits are great, and includes paid time-off for charity work, they do matching donations, adoption assistance, gym access or fitness reimbursements, etc. I realize not everyone uses all these, but it does promote more than just a one-dimensional work-work-work culture.

Cons

This may not apply to all divisions, but opportunities for true advancement were limited in many areas.
