Pros

- Get to evaluate different devices with cutting edge technology

Cons

- Everything is just chaos, the personnel you work with internally, the lab, and the job itself. Employees are tolerated to yell or curse with no consequences. It's common to go around wasting time looking for tools to do your job. It is rare to find a project that is given the appropriate amount of time to finish. - Each engineer is just a revenue generator with a certain target number to meet each month. Management won't admit it but an engineer's performance is directly tied to how much money you can make for the company each month. - You're on your own to interpret new standards and figure out how to do a test. Therefore you learn by yourself every month under stress trying to make the revenue target. - No bonus for engineers. Employees are underpaid in this company due to the low margin of profit.

Bit of a shambles

Pros

Pay is ok if you're at the right level Varied roles on offer Can actually be funny listening to the management rhetoric when the reality is so far from the image

Cons

Limited career progression - almost all management hires are external (usually from Inchcape) Clueless HR, none of the policies have been updated for 4 years and no one follows them anyway Mercenary Exec team, massively profligate with their own reward and benefits, yet slash valuable support services to save a few £ No investment in IT infrastructure, hopelessly out of date finance systems Addicted to spreadsheets Business is run by Operations, hence more about customer service than actually bringing in cash. Finance just seen as an obstacle.

Pros

The people here were the reason I came to work every day. The work is interesting and perhaps unbeknownst to management, you have a lot of freedom to come and go during long incubations.

Cons

I worked here for 4.5 months and witnessed four layoffs in that time, the last of which I fell victim to. Management hires lot of people when there's a lot of work, wastes thousands of dollars training them, and then lays everyone off when work starts to slow down again. They even called me back to see if I wanted my old job back, but for a $6/hr pay cut. Insulting. Towards the end, people started to get competitive and catty just to get ahead so they would keep their job.
