I was placed in an extremely toxic workplace. The head of the department I worked in was stealing from the company, she was sleeping with an employee who came into work and did nothing, but got paid more than everyone else. I was also spoken to very rudely by a co-worker and because I stood up for myself and this particular co-worker was friends with the head of the department I was starting to be treated unfairly

Worst culture - I worked with a bunch of women who were stuck in college. The only way to move up is if you were getting married and invited every Supervisor to the wedding(but only supervisors). I there for a very long time (trying to stay anon) but I only received 1 raise, 0 promotions and worked my butt off honestly. I was constantly trying to respect the higher-ups, do as I was told, tried to be innovative, but this didn't get me anywhere. If you are not a favorite, then nothing good is going to come your way. You are going to be stuck with the crap work that no one else wanted but is very intense and takes a lot of work and you excel in, yet you still get brushed under the rug. Like I said in the headline, I honestly have PTSD. This job took my confidence in my career, in my personal life, in my relationships, you name it. I was in a deep depression because I could not find another position. Luckily I did, I got out but I still have friends in this place that are feeling this same way everyday.
