Pros

When you first start you really feel like you’re part of something bigger and that everyone genuinely cares for you. You work like a dog up to 10-12 hours a day to make a non livable wage ( my local garbage man makes more) because you’re bought into the kool aid and tell yourself it’s hard work that will eventually pay off. Then you finally get promoted, which is great, confetti and everyone celebrating you, who wouldn’t love that?? Follow me to the cons for more.

Cons

Once promoted they tell you it’s an equal partnership between Pro’s and AMs but forget to include how micromanaged you’ll be as a Pro by your AM and the pay difference is pretty crazy too. There is no work life balance. They want you to come to work and spend 40+ hours a week with your colleagues there and then make them your besties outside of work too. They subtly shame you if you don’t come to a happy hour or want to go hangout with all your work “friends” on the weekend and call it culture. They eat breathe and sleep this idea that they have the best culture in the world when in reality they’ve stuck a bunch of people the same age with the exact same personality in one room and call it culture. There is no professionalism in this culture and everyday felt like an HR violation waiting to happen. They tell you to be open and honest and then go behind your back and before long the whole office knows your dirty laundry and wants to put their two cents in. Leadership is hypocritical and immature. The promote from within business plan leaves you with under qualified and over praised leaders because they only hire extroverts they can see themselves hanging out with on the weekend and if you drink the kool aid long enough you work your way up through the ranks. If you leave for a better opportunity they’ll try and guilt you and claim it as you weren’t willing to work hard enough to succeed. I didn’t feel so strongly about these things until I put in my two weeks notice and really saw how leadership handled it during and afterward. Insight Global is like going back to high school and unless you peaked in high school and are looking for a second dose, I’d recommend you find somewhere else to work.

Pros

Remote work and great team

Cons

They like to say they are transparent but they are the opposite. There was a data breach involving using google docs that higher up IG told us we had to use. I had a responsive recruiter to start off with but got told by my former recruiter I have a new one with his name and email. I tried to email him but could not get any response. Then when the PADOH ended their contract some of my team was getting phone calls fairly quick while my new recruiter hadn’t responded to emails I sent a few months ago. Insight global said they would reach out to everyone within 2 weeks from when they announced the contract ending. I got a call from a completely new recruiter close to the 2 week mark who seemed to dance around some questions like on when my final end date would be. Several coworkers had their recruiter tell them they would be done that same week Friday. The next day I got a call from a different recruiter telling me it would be the next day and the same Friday as my coworkers. I have worked with a recruiting company before and I have never had it be this unorganized and unprofessional. They should have handled the data breach better and not leave their employees in the dark. Equipment also was not functional for the job. A lot of phone issues as well.

Pros

The only pro is that the coworkers can be fun. Unprofessional, but fun!

Cons

Insight Global targets smart, attractive, hard working new grads & then lies & tricks them into this toxic company. The pay is terrible. You start out around 35K & then they make false promises that you’ll get promoted within 10 months & then earn 6 figures. The promotions are framed as objective - if you hit these metrics for these amount of weeks then you’ll get promoted.. FALSE. It’s completely subjective & depends on what works best for them. Want sales but they need more recruiters? Looks like that’s your only option. Want a promotion & have hit all your numbers consistently but they don’t have a territory for you? Looks like you’re SOL. They make examples out of a tiny percentage of people in the company who earn a lot when in reality most of the people aren’t making that much. They consistently manipulate everyone, change rules/standards of decisions on the fly for whatever works for them. On top of the horrible company & work environment - the staffing industry is tough. Your earnings depend on someone else showing up & being good at their job. Insight Global offers nothing special or different than their competitors. I feel so bad every time I see new people joining our office & getting tricked into this toxic pyramid scheme. It’s to the point that it can not be fixed by any one person or manager the issues are systemic. DO NOT DO IT. I’ve been trying to get out for a while now but the experience I’ve gained here isn’t very attractive to potential future employers: we don’t use Salesforce & our sales org is completely unorganized so you do a little bit of everything instead of focusing on specific parts of the process.
