Where do I begin? Immediate managers tend to micro-manage their employees more than actually develop their employees. Taking a sick day is looked down upon in most circles. You are LITERALLY worked to the bone and given no credit. If you aren't part of the "inner circle" or friends with any of them, don't even think you'll be promoted. There is rampant racism that goes on in this company, both superficial and subversive (plant level, office level, etc). Being a person of color and working here is like a trip back to the 1920s. There are people in management positions here that have no experience managing people and it causes a domino effect when it comes to efficiency and morale. People skills are non-existent with a lot of people in management positions. They will make you waste your time accomplishing arbitrary goals instead of your personal goals that will get you a promotion.

The HR at HQ is a joke with no professional knowledge and no impact on the organization. They are only there for management not employees.
