Pros

None anymore since the private equity guys took over.

Cons

What used to be a technologically innovative company is being slowly reduced to ashes thanks to the bean counter Private Equity guys and overpaid myopic Informatica management. Highly talented American engineers were laid off last August and the layoffs continue in small bunches despite management promises not to layoff anyone else. Now that Informatica is private, they no longer have to file WARN notices. Entire engineering teams have been laid off and operations outsourced to the Bangalore R&D office. Management then collects air miles flying back and forth not really doing anything productive. Whatever code gets produced takes twice as long to debug and there was intense pressure during the v10 final build. The Indian engineers are then brought in on L1B visas (for which no prevailing wage exists) and pressured to work long hours which they do because they have no worker protections.

You make a lot of assertions, but the facts do not support them. Informatica continues to be recognized for technical innovation - Gartner lists Informatica as a "Leader" in seven distinct enterprise software Magic Quadrant categories (as recently as this week) and a "Visionary" in one more. At the time we announced the completion of our privatization, we laid out the re-structuring strategy and the timelines for it. We also made a commitment that no additional layoffs were planned and we have kept that promise. Your accusation that the Company mistreats its workers is, to the best of our knowledge, completely without merit. If you have evidence to the contrary, you should take it to your HR Business Partner. Informatica has a written policy to protect whistle blowers, so you can make your case without fear of retribution. Your characterization of doom and gloom doesn't jibe with the fact that we have exceeded our revenue projections since we went private (and announced it to all employees as part of our commitment to open and transparent communications). Your comments indicate that you are clearly unhappy at Informatica. No employer is right for everyone. We would encourage you to use the holidays to reflect on your career. All of us have a choice: we can embrace the mission and vision of Informatica and do our utmost to make it a success, or we can find someplace else where we can do so. We hope you make the right decision for you and have a happier 2016. Good luck.
