I felt like a cog in a very large machine. I was bought in to work on a sotware product and after 3 years I still did not understand what the software was for or how it was used. I was just constantly fixing bugs. They never thought it was worthwhile to train me on the system so I could better understand it and be a more effective employee. The company was not interested in training employees to keep them current. If I stayed there, I would probably be working on the same system, year after year, with not potential to do anything else. They were also not very good about keeping compensation competitive. I also felt that there was no real meaningful feeling of being on a team, other than eating lunch together with other people in the software group.

The above circles comprise less and less each month\year with only kids and cling-ons left. WWII spy cell mentality from mushroom managers at all levels within all functional areas. Kill or die, caustic sales environment.
