Pros

Great coworkers, very inclusive, great amount of PTO, direct mgrs are very understanding. Lots of peers getting promoted very quickly. Very good pay, open to remote employees.

Cons

Monthly (or twice monthly) changes to sales comp. plan and direction. New directives coming down from management, seemingly at random, before sales team has even had a chance to implement the LAST change management sent down. No training program to speak of. No real sales process in place, and sales management is too busy with other admin tasks to actually manage the sales team. There’s not a real environment of learning - there are lots of trainings, but all revolve around product changes (which will be obsolete in a matter of weeks) and nothing about sales process.

Thank you so much for taking time to write a review and share your honest feedback and a lot of detailed advice for us. It's great that you see the potential, but I'm sorry to hear about the frustrations you've outlined. We're really focused on training right now and some of that may not have come to you yet, but I appreciate the feedback and know that it's a priority. I'll make sure to share your broader feedback with the teams internally as of course we don't want people to feel any confusion. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback.

Pros

1) The people are incredibly talented and a pleasure to work with 2) The industry is ripe for disruption and Indigo is well positioned to be the company that does it 3) The mission bold and, more importantly, everyone from the bottom to the top believes in it and are working to make it a reality 4) The leadership is transparent, inspiring, and has a track record of success

Cons

If those 4 pro's get you excited, then this isn't a con--you'll need to work very hard. I've never gotten up in the morning so energized to work.

Great small company

Pros

Everyone is brilliant, from the CEO to the techs to the Discovery scientists and Bioprocessing folks. Nobody works here if they don't care deeply about the future of the planet - our CEO doesn't need a job and he works 24/7 because he believes this is the best way to buffer our agricultural systems for the future. That attitude really does trickle down. Compensation is just shy of the industry standard, which is incredible for such a young company that's still burning cash. I can see this group sticking together and selling products for many years to come.

Cons

Company culture is a bit old and corporate if you're not in the lab. Expect collared shirts and slacks with dress shoes. Expect to work odd, long hours - though that's the nature of the work. As is the case with most small companies, everyone has to wear a thousand hats, which is great unless you're a PhD with 10 years industry experience doing repetitive, manual labwork. There haven't been as many all-hands-on-deck situations lately, but the summer of 2015 was rough. You'll likely work from home and on the weekends.
