Pros

Pros - Gain experience getting on the phone and getting comfortable with overcoming objections. Gain experience juggling more than you think you can productively handle.

Cons

Cons - I regret to report that while a lot of the reviews for Indeed are negative, they are true and should not be ignored. During my time at Indeed, I worked hard, did my best to build good relationships with my peers, and did my best to remain positive among all of the turmoil in the California office and company as a whole has had. The perception is that the environment in the California office has gotten bad over the last year or so, but the reality is that it has always been that way. The turnover has been an issue since the birth of the office. It is my strong opinion that it is a mistake to think that this environment has been created by the lower and mid-level management. The reality is that a big cause is the poor and disconnected upper leadership. People feel intimidated when resigning knowing how mid-level management will react. Leadership openly speaks poorly about reps that leave, even the reps that were top talent and worked hard everyday. Luckily those that have made the decision to leave drive away feeling relieved and that a toxic weight has been lifted off of them physically and mentally. Indeed continues to scratch their heads and question "why are you leaving?". It is insanity. To continue to treat people the same way after it has been more than clear that it doesn't work and yet expect different results. They are in denial that a person may actually want to leave to work for a better company culture, regardless if Indeed is looked at as a superior product. Fortunately, the bay area talent doesn't have to settle for Indeed's poor culture and mediocre pay. There are tons of companies out there with great products and most importantly healthy, strong, and positive work environments.

Pros

You are paid well if you get lucky with your book of business . Unlimited PTO. If you have a good manager it can be an amazing experience.

Cons

Do not believe what they are selling that they care about you as a person. Indeed only cares about one thing..money. The recent layoffs should be proof of that. For years I was under the belief they cared about employees mental health and then I started to see through it. If you have a bad quarter or two..then you are a liability to the company. Micro management is huge here and they make you hit stupid metrics even if you are pacing to hit your goal. Indeed only surfacely cares about their employees well being but deep down is just like every other corporation where profits are more important than people..and you know it. Yes you make good money here but I was miserable and management was disgusting and played favorites pretty clearly and it really impacts mental health. I make less elsewhere but am much more happy.

Pros

Great employee perks including top class health insurances, free drinks and snacks

Cons

The worst working experience I've ever encountered. -No work life balance. In the interview, I was told there is awesome work life balance here, and almost no OT here which is totally not the truth. You are expected to work 10-12 hours a day. Though it's not enforced directly, it is implied by team lead and manager. They assigned you the overwhelmed work to do which is even out of your job scope, then told you that you can stop your work at 6pm. But the workload is definitely couldn't be finished before 6pm. Even you sacrifice yourself and work overtime every day, the work will never be completed. Because they keep assigning you the work more and more, and lastly give you the worst and false evaluation even though how hard you worked. -Poor management. Poorest management team, you couldn’t imagine a team can be leaded by these kinds of people: they are emotional, unprofessional, childish, lack of basic working knowledge. They couldn’t accept any different voice, and keep building “yes-man” around them. The leads keep making mistakes but all will become subordinate’s faults, that’s their way. -Office politics. It’s so funny even there is office politics in such a small team, and 2 team leads in the same team. The power-hungry leads use their subordinates as a tool to fight for their promotion. So, subordinates must become victims. -Border bullying culture Harassment behavior from team leaders and managers. Even they have an ethical team or HR department who should take care of this kind of issue, and you reported to them you have mentally exhausted due to endless border bullying, but no one take care of this issue seriously, and no one will care you, anyway you’re replaceable. And the team leader even told you, if you couldn’t endure then quit here.
