Pros

PLC benefits, leverage of a large company

Cons

Too much centralisation, too many Pendragon employees joined that ruined the DNA and culture of Inchcape. Management by the poorest, lowest denominator which clips the wings of the able and allows the tolerance of the poor performers.

Pros

Used to be a business that developed its staff. As such, staff were motivated and gave their all. It would not be uncommon for many staff (at varying levels) to work 60+ hour weeks (without overtime). Senior management started to cut corners which resulted in reduced sales and high staff attrition. A real shame because it used to be an amazing place to work.

Cons

As mentioned, senior managers cut corners in order to meet their targets. Aust. Business was encouraged to work against parent company (UK) requirements.Headcount reduced as much as 40% in some departments with an expectation for the same level of service. This led to staff burnout. Both long serving staff and customers were not looked after. Many promises were made for salary increases and development. Did not ever eventuate. HR is unethical and acts inappropriately when multiple team members highlight concerns.
