Pros

Good co workers. Perks like movies food and lots of parties. Decent pay. Nice building.

Cons

Where in the building you work can really shape your view. I see so much pettiness, group think and turnover it's frustrating. Not sure what anyone thinks of China and Russia but this company LOVES them. Some of us are not so in love...

Pros

Great people, inspiring CEO of Entertainment (Greg Foster), nice office, large desks, overtime worked from home, nice area, solid benefits. The company cares a lot about your life outside the workplace. IMAX is very much a family and understanding that “things happen”. Many of the senior staff put family first, which is encouraging and rare.

Cons

You won’t learn anything unless you’re proactive with your manager. Management is very absent in your development so you need to take charge. You won’t get invited to meetings unless you request it and you won’t be involved in conversations unless you give yourself a voice. Management is not evil or tough, just absent minded. Biggest con is nepotism- so much nepotism!!!!! Also, not very high tech for a tech company. We are forced to use 80s software to manage a lot of important aspects to the company’s infrastructure.
