Pros

The people are great and work hard to see IGT succeed.

Cons

Cuts around benefits and pay continue year over year. The cuts are so deep they are no longer competative.

Pros

Cafe and gym is a great asset of IGT Some really nice and smart people work there Depending on which department you are in, work life balance is great

Cons

Department work is very uneven. You have some departments working all the time and a ton of overtime, while other departments barely have enough to keep employees busy during the day (Mgmt is very strick on not allowing cross department help, they rather you sit there with nothing to do all day then help the other departments who are swamped) Pay in the accounting department is very sub par, people leave all the time for higher better paying jobs There are some people in certain groups that have no idea what or why they are doing, their response is "this is how I was told to do it, but I don't know why or what I am doing" Not being able to be promoted without a degree, even if you have years of experience. IGT is very big on degrees, certifications, etc. when the work that actually occurs there, anyone could do (with or without a degree) Upper Mgmt does not walk the talk - they do not treat employees well or acknowledges hard work, they also play favorites and do not handle HR issues (they avoid them because its to much work)

IGT PLC on wrong track

Pros

Market share and potential are there with an opportunity to take the industry to a new level of technology and stabilize market share.

Cons

New leadership has fewer clues about the casino industry than the prior one; the one that squandered billions in revenue, market cap and relationships. GTECH paid two to three times what IGT was actually worth, and is now trying to make up the difference through "synergistic cost cutting." In the process, they are losing the heart of the company, driving line employees to embrace unions, and continuing to shed market share.
