Pros

IGT used to attract the best and brightest in the area which created a vibrant work environment. The people I've met and the work relationships I've forged are great.

Cons

IGT is no longer the company it used to be. Senior management is out of touch and incompetent, especially in my department. We have an entirely new management team that has no experience in gaming and it shows every day. What was once an amazing company now deteriorates by the day. It's stressful and managed extremely poorly. To say IGT has a morale issue would be an understatement.

Pros

IGT has the distribution network and licenses to be able to compete and/or domination any market segement if it really wants to. It is a good company for landing a high positition if you come for the outside.

Cons

There is a total lack of respect for what it took to build this company from its humble beginnings. The shift to a process oriented and product management driven company has derailed its creative streak and innovative products. The company only knows how to 'react' rather than 'lead' in the past few years. Once inside the company, there is limited changes to grow and move up from within - both position and salary.

Can the Board of Directors please wake up!

Pros

It was a dynamic place with good ideas and growth. It is still a leader in its industry and if the CEO is replaced might rebound.

Cons

The CEO is incompetent almost beyond comprehension. Her track record is not one of turnaround, but rather one of destroying companies and managing to sell the remains for a pittance. Look at Telocity, Excite, Pinnacle...all businesses, market share, future innovation crushed under her leadership, which is just about her. Extremely arrogant and may not even realize how incompetent she is.
