Hear Its Tense Times at IGT

Pros

like others say, the rank-n-file people are good for the most part. lots of great designers who are talented and passionate about making cool games. pay is good for low cost of living town like Reno.

Cons

like others say, the odd propaganda, low morale, leadership, constant reorganizing, and finger pointing have this once leading company in a state of decline. the game studios have been a big mess for a few years. it would be good to have a gaming industry expert with an awesome track record in charge of that stuff. it takes too long for people from other industries to figure out the uniqueness of the business IGT is in. or i am totally off and the humans who run the place are as awesome as the birds nesting in the great tree just outside the great window of the great building near the great lake tahoe. perhaps reality will dawn in soon.

Pros

Pays well for the area (Nevada) good bennies, on site cafe

Cons

Completely political. Company in transition from manufacturing to a services company. And writing code is not what they do well - buying code is what they do well. Change makes people nervous and there are a lot of well paid nervous managers in place.

Pros

There are a few good people left after the scorched earth removal of most that knew the industry and game development. It would be considered a fun industry by some (not me).

Cons

Employees moral is low. They have lost many of their prime game developers. The executive management, especially, and some of middle management is very poor. There is little loyalty to employees.
