Pros

I get paid a regular paycheck.

Cons

No project management tools. They rely on Excel and all of its glorious glitches. Onboarding is poor and the lack of knowledge is evitable when working with cross-functional teams. DEI hires galore. Very few hires in the US anymore. One small perk was their award nominations with points that relate to purchases. We can still nominate and receive awards, but they've limited if you can get any points from it. Absolutely pathetic. Global company so many of your team will have weeks upon weeks of time off and in the US we get 1/2 of what they do. Same job and we have to be their backup when they are OOO. Don't try to take short term disability. You may never get paid. I had to stay on top of it because they missed a paycheck and then didn't pay me the correct number of hours. It took 1 1/2 months to get my pay.

Pros

Competitive Salary, probably the highest compared to other CROs

Cons

Work overload and poor leadership will drive you to the brink of quitting without another position lined up. Line managers are not solely focused on direct report development and manage their own projects which leaves very little time for guidance and development. Studies are underbid to win contracts and you will be overworked as a result. Senior leadership is focused on dollars and not quality work and with that comes all a lot "cutting corners" to maintain client relationships. Your weekends will be dedicated to catching up on work and your quality of life will deteriorate. Unless you enjoy working around the clock, think twice before accepting an offer.

Misaligned company culture

Pros

Leading full-service CRO. Years of experience, global footprint, and access to some of the top talent in the industry. Strong relationships with clients. A deep roster of some of the smartest, most talented employees who are dedicated to helping to bring life-saving therapies to patients.

Cons

It's been a very turbulent 12 months, with initiatives to "right size" and increase investment in low to mid-cost countries. Unfortunately, that has led to the loss of many valuable employees, both those affected by job re-locations and the co-workers in affected teams. The company values and pillars of excellence do not feel aligned with the current culture.
