Pros
Good pay and benefits. Very safe and clean work environment. Flexible hours for salary employees.
Cons
You move up in the company based entirely on: 1) Who you know. 2) Who you are related to. 3) How well you are liked and perceived…period. Not, I repeat NOT, based on experience, knowledge, work ethic, work quality, dedication, etc. Managers are chummy with HR people, the “open door policy” will NEVER EVER work in your favor. I worked with and admired a FEW very good people that did an awesome job and truly cared about doing the right thing. But with the current culture, they were always put down and/or thought of as “troublemakers” (probably because they have the guts to hold people accountable!). All the above is common knowledge at Hunter Douglas Broomfield, and I’d be willing to bet that the majority of employees, past and present, will agree to most, if not ALL of this.
