The people who work at Holland America are very nice and easy to get along with. Great work environment. Room for advancement if you are a talented employee. They tend to promote from within.

Cons

The salary is average compared to the cruise industry but is below average for the staff accountant field in general. Benefits could be better. Dress code is behind the times.

Holland America is a great place to work because of the people; it is like a big family. HAL promotes from within so there are a lot of opportunities to advance.

Cons

Just as in any work place sometimes management fails to make the best decisions and sometimes fails to ask advice of the people who have more information.
