The work was exciting at first. Able to develop and implement new algorithms.

Cons

Loosing sales to competitors forced management to put software development into an on-going fire drill mode for more than 5 years. Spent lots of money of software development tools and methods that did not produce desired results. Laid off more expensive and experienced developers and pushed software development to cheaper developers in Asia.
