Pros

Hertz has been putting a number of innovative programs into place. Management is willing to take feedback and is responsive to employee suggestions and concerns. Hertz offers a comprehensive benefits package and demonstrates a willingness to help employees have a good life/work balance.

Cons

Hertz is not immune to the economic downturn, but is being proactive and is making smart decisions in garnering new business and protecting its employees. It is also looking ahead to improved times by positioning itself for future growth opportunities.

Pros

Hertz is getting into some interesting new businesses. Dynamic sr. management that seems committed to growing the business despite a tough economy. In most positons, you don't have to work crazy hours. You can actually have a life. Full benefits package, although the 401k match and annual merit increase are suspended until business conditions improve (unknown when that will be). Yearly bonuses for management positions. Salaries were cut earlier this but restored in the fall - management kept its word to restore salaries when market conditions stabilized.

Cons

No clear promotions track. You may have to jump to different divisions if your career path is blocked in the area you are initially hired. If you are not flexible your career may not readily advance here. Travel industry, as a whole, is struggling. Equipment rental industy is in a deep recession. Constant pressure on management to cut costs. .
