Pros

Henkel stands out as an excellent company overall, offering stable employment opportunities with workloads that can vary depending on your business group. During the interview process, it's worth asking some crucial questions to gain insight into the team dynamics and company culture. Inquiring about the team's size, tenure of team members (including the hiring manager), and any turnover experienced in recent years, along with the reasons behind it, can provide valuable insights. While it may be a challenging question to pose, understanding turnover rates can unveil underlying issues within the organization. You'll discover a community where individuals are generally open to offering assistance (when time permits) and forging genuine connections. The bonds you form within this environment have the potential to endure a lifetime.

Cons

The salary offered is slightly below the industry average. In my research, I found that colleagues with similar experience and roles typically earn 10-20% more than what I was offered at Henkel. For external hires, this knowledge can serve as valuable leverage during negotiations. It's essential to understand your management circle level, ranging from MC0a (Executives) to MC4b (with smaller numbers indicating higher ranks). Management positions ideally should be at level 2b; accepting level 3a could hinder your future advancement significantly. In due time, it becomes apparent whether the company is invested in your growth and advancement. If not, you may find yourself in a position where your current value is prioritized over your potential future contributions. Despite being a global company, Henkel's structure often results in roles that operate within a microclimate rather than leading to global opportunities. Unless you enter the company with a global responsibility, interactions with other business groups may be limited, and travel to other sites may not be common unless you're being groomed as a future leader.

Pros

Opportunity to create clean, green value for industry.

Cons

HR and management do not support even their best employees. Went to HR to request reasonable accommodations during a volenteer severance package offer. Was terminated for whistleblowing on my supervisor, the day I left for a 3 week vacation, with no warning at all. My personal reference library was put up for grabs, left-overs trashed! I was a model employee for 32 years. They still make millions on my inventions and products I developed from them. My colleagues were forbidden to contact, or give me reference. Thus, blacklisted me to any other opportunities in my field. Retaliation for abuse is illegal. This was my reward.

Pros

The only good thing about this place used to be really good, were the set schedules, and long weekends.

Cons

Worked for the company sun products. Recently Henkel bought out Sun. Then started making drastic negative changes to a company that didn’t need them. Under staffed, the company is still laying off a whole lot more staff. All while making the people who are currently employed suffer with an unrealistic heavy work load, and mandatory over time. All while not giving you any raises in pay. They also penalize you for using your call off benefits. Now you have to use your vacation hours or lose them at the end of the year. But good luck using your vacation hours since they don’t have enough coverage (due to them getting rid of employees, or employees leaving because they refuse to be treated like crap by Henkel) to cover your shift while you’re on vacation, they mostly deny your vacation. They preach safety regulations, yet will will demand you do the job of 3 people, and over work you. Can’t really move to a better position or transfer around If you have a write up, or your area is short staffed.
