Pros

Work as a customer support agent is pretty straightforward, albeit repetitive. Depending on the clientèle, interactions can range from quite pleasant to frustrating. That is the nature of the job of a CS agent. The range of solutions we're allowed to provide is relatively limited, but sufficient in most cases. In contrast to other industries where processes are more strict, I'd say we can be relatively flexible.

Cons

In the context of a customer support role, the software we must use can often be frustrating to use, both for high performers and newly joined employees. The company seems to focus on pretty visuals instead of fast and efficient tools. A slow-loading dashboard or screen can really have a negative impact on KPIs, and something out of our control. Speaking of KPIs, they've been recently increased but there hasn't been much in term of empowerment and process optimization to allow us to achieve these loftier goals. Changes and updates to processes sometimes don't seem to be well thought out. Departments could be better in tune with each other, for example production vs marketing vs procurement vs support.

Culture Gone, Here Comes AI and Austerity Actions

Pros

The people are great - the first 75% of my time there was also great, from Pre-COVID to 2025.

Cons

Business took too long to pivot once they saw demand softening. Needed post-COVID solutions way sooner. Tons of layoffs and attrition, backfills either from Canada or workload offshored to reduce headcount spend in the US. New President/CEO putting everything towards AI as magic solution. This new Grizzly report doesn't help either.
