Pros

- Close to train station - Hybrid working (kind of)

Cons

- Used to get breakfast and coffee once and month. They took away the coffee because we have a pod machine now. - New CEO came in and wanted to shake things up. A quarter of the workforce were let go or resigned. - When someone leaves in the greater IT team, they aren't replaced. Work gets delegated to people so now people have to do the roles they aren't suited for. - Management expect too much all at once. Their antiquated systems take time to work with. - Kept telling us to come into the office more days during the week, except there weren't enough functional desks for all of us.

Pros

It used to be a great place to work. People got along, recruiters and AM's were considered equals. That has since changed.

Cons

This place used to be a great place to work, but recently, people are leaving my the handfuls weekly. Since Covid the company has shown that they do not really care about their people. They forced people back into the office in the fall of 2020 way too early, and are now demanding people go back into the office now, even if they've proven themselves to be successful from home. If that was the same across the board for recruiters and AM's, it might be one thing, but certain people get special treatment to stay remote forever, just because of who they are. Management sends out videos and emails about Mental Health but then follows that up with emails to work harder so the company can hit their goals. They send out videos and emails about diversity and creating new programs to focus on diversity, and then they hire another old white male executive. They sent out "Your Voice Survey's" yet I haven't seen anything implemented. There are no inflation raises, and people stay at their same base pay for years because their promotion levels are very hard to obtain once you get so high. They take away resources, put more work on the recruiters, and expect you to make more placements this way. Also worth noticing, the benefits and 401 suck - I wouldn't even call it a match.

Unprofessional Game Players

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

At first I thought they were like most other recruiters at simply being rubbish at returning phone calls and responding to LinkedIn messages, etc. But then I witnessed several other shady activities which told me that Hays really goes above and beyond the normal recruiter scumminess threshold: * Signing candidates up for client interviews after the candidate expressly indicates that they are not interested in the position (it's all about creating the illusion of having a large candidate pool, isn't it?) * Watching recruiting peers crawling over each other to be official POC for a particular candidate. It is almost like some sort of sick game at times.

Thank you for your candid review. We take our reputation to heart and believe all Hays employees must act ethically and with our customer’s (both candidate and client) best interests in mind. The industry requires internal staff to conduct the business with urgency while embodying a competitive spirit. We recognize that this type of environment and career in recruitment may not be suited for everyone. But, it is our hope that those who do move on to other opportunities have learned skills that will make them successful in their new endeavors.
