Pros

The people in my office were fantastic and made it difficult to leave, truly. The in office culture was fun until it wasn't. I enjoyed working with my candidates and clients and building relationships with them as well. It gave me excellent experience in talking to people and getting over call hesitancy. You learn a lot of valuable skills that will no doubt be useful in any position you seek thereafter.

Cons

There was a lot of emphasis on numbers. The emphasis never came across well either. There were a lot of jokes about us losing our jobs and stories from managers about other managers firing people because of the numbers. We should look our managers and be so thankful they weren't firing us, right? The tone of the emails about our numbers was hostile as well. I was stressed to the point that my hair was falling out. The changes that were being implemented were very difficult to keep up with. They would come up with one idea and it had to happen right then, and when that idea ultimately did not work, it was our fault for not doing enough of it. Heavy tension in the office and lots of behind your back chatting.

Pros

I have nothing positive to say about this awful company.

Cons

If you’re a woman and have a family, trust me this place will treat you like trash. I was offered a modified schedule through management to cover a certain period of time where I didn’t have childcare and they fired my manager and told me they wouldn’t honor my schedule. (Remote flexibility for 2-3 days a week) Since my pay wasn’t high enough to cover childcare at that moment, they gave me zero options and they forced me out. HR even tried to trick me into quitting and offered 2 weeks pay if I did. Scam artists! Then they terminated me for not having childcare and not being willing to provide me a modified schedule (not indefinitely mind you) even though my functionality didn’t even require my presence onsite. To add insult to injury the benefits are AWFUL! I worked 2 days the week they FIRED me, and I didn’t even get a paycheck because those snakes decided to deduct the entire premium in that small check and cancel my insurance policy only a few days after they let me go. So now both myself AND my newborn were left with no insurance and I paid over $900 that one month. HORRIBLE COMPANY, I have nothing positive to say. They treated everyone on my team less than and they come around with smiling faces but we do the hardest work and have NO reward. I will never stop telling people how horrible this company is.

Thank you for your constructive feedback. We are disappointed to hear you felt you were not treated fairly while employed with Hays. While we strive to deliver an excellent employee experience, we unfortunately are unable to accommodate all employee work schedule requests, especially if they may be dictated by client needs. We’d also be glad to look into your benefits issue to ensure that you received the coverage you were entitled too per our benefits plan design. Work-life balance is recognized by Hays US as a key priority for every employee. Our core employees are offered benefits such as: -Generous PTO (including unlimited for some employees) -Company paid medical leave -Company sponsored trips Our Total Rewards team is continuously reviewing our employee benefits to ensure we remain an industry leader in offering the best benefit plan possible for our staff. We will use this feedback to see how to better improve in these areas. If you wish to speak to someone further, please feel free to email HRRequests@hays.com, and we can connect you directly with our Director of People Services.

Best company I've worked for yet!

Pros

Extensive training to help you feel confident in your role. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. Best work life balance I have found at any company. Frequent (sometimes weekly) employee outings really brings the team together.

Cons

None thus far- I will update at a later date if I find the need. Some people find the commission structure confusing but it's quite simple once it's explained to you.
