Pros

As a woman, there are no Pros to working here. Your career will be derailed by sexists pigs.

Cons

It’s disgusting what is happening at this company. Women are treated like worthless human bearings. There is absolutely no equality here.

Pros

Discount is good, 65% for you and 50% for f&f. If you're good at selling, you get treated well. You meet interesting clients.

Cons

Pay is awful in comparison to other high end retail brands, what's expected of you for minimum wage is obscene. You get paid more at Tesco to stack shelves. If you do get promoted, the wage doesn't go up enough to compensate for loss of commission. The company doesn't care about people that don't do well, no desire for improvement. There's a overriding sense that higher management think they're doing you a favour letting you work there. Threatened with being fired if you don't achieve KPIs, with no reasonable chance to improve. No set out path for promotion, often decided on personality rather than merit. Not enough promotion from within. Staff resent each other because competition is deliberately fierce, everyone steals sales, store management call out staff in front of everyone else with no sensitivity at all. Area managers are even worse. If your sales are good, you can get away with anything really. Complaints aren't ever taken seriously. never worked somewhere where there is such little team spirit. Overtime expected for nothing, no respect for working times directive. HR - USELESS Finance team - USELESS Catalougue of errors in my time there, still unresolved after months.

Pros

Staff discount was 65% which is great as the prices for Boss "designer" goods are not as expensive as other premium brands. Out of all area managers there is just one who is by far the greatest manager I have ever worked for. The rest, well....

Cons

Hugo Boss is by far the worst employer I have ever worked for. The management are bully's and I personally witnessed staff being both mentally and physically bullied by members of higher store management. Some staff are singled out and made to feel worthless. There is no training, coaching or development in anyway as the managers did not care. I once had an employee in tears as she was dragged by the arm which left bruises and spoken to about being fired in front of other staff member. The pay is pitiful, the staff moral was very low. High turnover of staff, no development, no progression unless your "face fit" or you were willing to be exploited. Management are either involved with staff, afraid of them or seem to think they can treat them with contempt. If you are considering Hugo Boss as an employer, I would honestly as yourself "do you have self respect"
