Pros

Good Work Life Balance

Cons

Salary revision is entirely in hands of Manager, no HR intervention in between. At time become partial and bias.. no grievance readdress mechanism in place. No direction to develop carrier up in ladder Company Strategies are not constant, fired almost 1000+ people in 2017 and now hiring 3000+ employees in 2018.

Pros

Overall - good benefits package comprising basic salary, health care, non contributory pensions and okay bonus

Cons

Fear culture, incompetent management, lack of integrity, too many performance targets (sorry expectations), peer group comparison framework that substantially discriminates against Premier Managers who work in smaller G5&G6 branches compared to those in larger City branches, lack of Premier Office Support in smaller branches also reduces your ability to meet peer group targets.

Pros

- Salary, including the night-time bonuses - Learning a job position which can be useful to progress further.

Cons

- Career opportunities only available to locals, unless you argue your way in. Locals are clearly favoured over people from other countries. - No power to avoid criminal acts done by the clients, even when it's clearly written they are suspicious - Job that is not ambitious, according to the Head of Department - Nothing to do most of the time, sometimes even a week in a row. - Management, contrarily to what is taught during the induction, does not value honesty and doing what is right. - Work equipment not tested, which means spending weeks focusing on IT issues rather than learning. - Training given incorrectly, as I ended up using most of the time a program that we were told was useless. - Pursuing suspicious transactions and negative press is good until you stumble upon HSBC itself, in which case you are asked to hide all evidence. - Shift (14-22) not suitable for everyone
