Pros

Global bank, opportunities to move from one site to another globally (although less opportunities now)

Cons

30k jobs slashed in the midst of CoVid pandemic, understanding HSBC complex organization and processes requires a PhD and exceptional memory skills, pay less than peers, is 5 year behind the competition in many topics

Pros

- they are quite generous with the remuneration to attract talents - good team lead who has very good sense of the overall business

Cons

- bank system is super old and IT has no priority and intention to upgrade or change the system, everything is so backwards and manual for a MNC bank - colleagues are not very patient with new joiners, expecting you to know after telling you the steps once, they like to push you to read procedure manual, when you reach out to clarify - procedure manual is not very user/new comer friendly which is very outdated (some of the process kept changing but was not updated) and kept very brief, only people who has been doing it understand what is going on - constant reshuffling/reorganisation of the team
