Pros

Balancing Work-life environment Easy Interview filtering (Hiring rates are High) Decent Compensations Opportunity to work globally

Cons

3 Month Notice Period - whenever you get better offers they target to spoil the opportunity by long notice period without negotiations, recommend to resign first and apply for jobs, these days none of the companies ready to accept 3 months of joining, even 2 months also becoming hard, this it the HCL's strategy to keep you not leaving Reaching HR or Management is almost impossible in Sri Lanka Office Controls and decisions are not made individually and country specifically,in simple terms, Management in Srilanka just holding designations with no power Leaves - having complex leave rules which not align with Sri Lanka Holiday Policies Politics - you will be treated as a traitor once you gave the resignation, even your regular approvals also being ages to get approvals

Pros

1. Good Work-life balance for a married personnel, 2. Learning and challenging roles 3. On-site opportunities very rare, but it is there 4. Felt like home, amenities inside campus is good, hospitals, shops, etc... 5. If one does additional gimmicks, according promotion and hike is possible ( but no one say how to do and what to do, have to find individually, mostly it'll take min. after first year) 6. Few Friendly Managers are there

Cons

1. No hike, be prepared, again repeating no hike, its a mere hike percentage, for a middle class people, they cant stand a chance, more than 3 years.... 2. Politics, 3. Few un manageable managers... 4. Recruiters sometimes speak like Hench men, so ball up in salary negotiation, again saying mere annual hike percentages, so entering hike is the only option, never fear for threatening words from HR recruiters.... speak up and stand strong in salary negotiation.... (just my suggestion) 5. No promotions, unless you meet goals of manager's KPI 6. No monetary benefits

Pros

They have huge number of projects across USA. So, if you join as a FTE, you kind of have a job security. If a project ends with one client, they can move you to a different client.

Cons

No work-life balance at all. You are expected to join calls at ungodly hours; 6-7 AM, 8-9 PM, weekends... If you suggest alternate time, you are "unprofessional". Since most other employees bow down and accept mandate from managers, the one who asks for logical timing becomes the sore thumb. Extremely manager-centric corporate culture. Managers behave like slave owners and implement a "my way or the highway" practice. Compensation is paltry. Every year they have "budget issue" when time comes for salary revision. Their appraisal process doesn't affect compensation. Even after getting highest class of rating in appraisal, you'll get "we'll see next year" when you ask for raise.
