Pros

Many opportunities are offered. Many chances to travel to store openings all over the world. People listen to your ideas and you are very respected. You are given many responsibilities and therefore, H&M gives you a chance to grow in your career.

Cons

When you are a manager, therefore exempt, you are expected to work long hours (I have worked a 23.5 hour day!) especially during store openings, with little or no time off. The salaries are not very competitive but the vacation times are acceptable. (3 weeks after 3 years)

Pros

The pay is well above average, benefits package is pretty decent and the store discount is useful, especially if you are on a budget. The title "Sales Advisor" sounds pretty nice compared to "Associate". Telling people you work at H&M seems a lot better than saying you work at Target, Macy's or Mcdonald's. And that's about it...

Cons

These people will work you to the bone. Management will try to squeeze in as much work as physically possible within a 4 hour shift, and if you have an 8 hour shift, GOD help you. Full timers would find themselves being in the store up to 11 hours a day. When you announce it's time for you to clock out, managers will try to get you to finish some work before you go. Problem is, it's impossible to finish your task because you are constantly being pulled away to do something else. If you are new, be prepared to feel like a fish out of water. H&M believes you "learn by doing" but you are rarely taught HOW to do what is supposed to be done. My biggest peeve is that so much is expected of you, but no one tells you HOW to go about doing it and being efficient and effective. You are expected to carry the whole world on your shoulders with a blind fold over your eyes while walking on steaming hot coal barefooted in a timely matter, and yet you don't get even an ounce of advice as to how to do it and be successful doing so. Management is a complete joke and it's because they hate their job and expect everyone else to be as miserable. 9 times out of 10 managers will try to pick and choose when they are a manager on duty, so if you have an issue with a customer and store/company policies and a manager is needed, be prepared for one to briskly tell you "I'm not the MOD (Manager on duty)" If managers are feuding, be prepared to be caught up in the middle.
