Pros
As it is such a large company, the access to resources is great. You work with brokers, actuaries, modelers, etc that are extremely knowledgeable. Very strong training program for new hires. You can find people that are willing to invest time in you and mentor you if you make the effort. Work life balance is what I would expect and manageable. I've been very happy at GC.
Cons
Work life balance/office culture really seems to depend on the location and I've been lucky to work in a branch where I get along with every single person in the office and everyone is very supportive of each other and managers are invested in career development of the younger employees. The junior employees in larger offices don't get the same exposure as early on and I think the culture is just a little more uptight.
