Pros

* Help save the world * Interesting, well-informed & friendly coworkers * Feel good about the work you're doing

Cons

* Must meet fundraising quota to stay employed * There is NO leeway if you don't meet the quota, even if you're in a bad area (for instance a college campus where few people have much disposable income) or there's some unusual circumstance preventing most people from stopping to talk (for instance a huge convention)

Pros

We had a great team working together, co-operating on tasks and could always discuss our different opinions on how to solve something to get the best result. A very interesting organisation to work for.

Cons

It can sometimes be a bit depressing to hear about how we pollute the world. Although Greenpeace is fighting to make a change, it made me feel that there will be too little time to turn the pollution and climate change around. As a developer there were not much career opportunities. But those are the bad things I can come up with from my perspective.

Pros

The office environment is very much like a family. You can tell that everybody is there for the right reasons and it makes it easy to go to work. Working for a completely independent non profit is quite fulfilling and when you actually see the genuine change occur on behalf of hard work put in, there is no greater feeling in the world.

Cons

You end up getting so immersed that you can easily ignore your outside life.
