Pros

Salary is competitive, benefits are fine, the best perk was the holiday celebrations and Friday hot breakfast (once a month).

Cons

There is no system that has a clear picture of the cases each paralegal has and nobody cares if you can handle them all. Cases are just assigned disproportionally and it becomes the paralegals job and responsibility. Attorneys are there just to hang around and sign cases, mostly without any review or input. Attorneys show no major concern for the outcome of the case. The head of the Immigration practice is very moody, can be super nice to you one day and absolutely nasty, unprofessional and unethical the next day. HR is pretty much a puppet, cannot ever be objective and just there to please the shareholders.

The worst job on earth

Pros

I get paid I guess

Cons

I have never been so micromanaged or controlled in my life. If you want to have management review emails before you're permitted to send them, and if you want to use half your brain and sit chained to your laptop all day, this is the place for you. The director always talks about flexibility when in reality it is the least flexible job of all time. This place is like North Korea and the director is the supreme leader. STAY AWAY

Pros

Work/life balance was ok - not the best but not the worst. Had some great colleagues that became like family to me. Some offices were beautiful and well located. Fewer big egos than in other firms.

Cons

Had some terrible colleagues - many of which would constantly avoid doing their job and were not team players. Some offices are terribly old and outdated. Pay is well below market for the level of work you do and they’re not transparent at all regarding compensation, advancement opportunities or professional goals. The firm is run like a much smaller organization than it is and hasn’t right sized its infrastructure to meet the current head count and global reach. You quickly come to learn that their “entrepreneurial spirit” is just an excuse for their lack of firmwide infrastructure. There are other firms of similar size that do this much better.
