      - Great technical talent - Great software engineering practices - Outstanding benefits - Lot of visibility into the inner workings of the company

      Cons

      - You may land up in a non-important group - Industry experience is not valued, perhaps rightly so - Its hard to get promoted beyond a certain level.

      Pros

      Google offers a very goal-oriented and challenging work environment. The Google name on the resume opens up many doors in the software industry. I grew as a programmer at Google. The scale of the development work is virtually unmatched in the industry and that needs out-of-the box thinking. The best part of the job was working with so many smart people. I learned more from my colleagues than I did in college. I also loved free food:) The informal work culture at Google is something I truly enjoyed.

      Cons

      I did feel burn out at times. I also took work home many times.

      Pros

      No problem is too large to tackle. You get a chance to work on things not possible elsewhere because of the scale of the resources you have available. You also work with very smart and capable people.

      Cons

      You're given the opportunity to work on your own ideas, but you often find that someone else is working on exactly the same thing. It's hard to find an interesting piece of work that you can call your own. Also projects are getting more and more siloed into the different offices, so you will only be able to work on specific projects.
