Pros

Flexible schedule, management staff is very good, and it is a very relaxed attitude. You get paid commission on new club sales.

Cons

Pay could be better, too much emphasis on pushing credit and loyalty cards on customers, and too many metrics are placed on the store that are meaningless.

Pros

The benefits are good and cheap for full time employees. Discount is ok for clothes and other miscellaneous items. Golf clubs are better purchased from vendors, cause their discount is way better!!

Cons

Where do I begin....underpaid, undervalued, etc. Our store was a Golfsmith and Dick’s bought them out and converted to Golf Galaxy. Only certain managers got 2 weeks paid vacation, other managers got nothing!! Then those managers got to accrue additional vacation, which came to like 4 weeks over the entire year total!! Going into 2nd year with Golf Galaxy and I’ve got like 15 hours of vacation, who hooo!! They don’t treat employees fair, overworked and undervalued for sure!! If a good company and small paycheck isn’t a big deal and just need employment for benefits, then this might be ok. Trying to make a career and pay for necessities like food, daycare, mortgage, etc...forget it!! Parent company is Dick’s...

Pros

Pay was competitive. Benefits were reasonable.

Cons

This company's upper management was terrible. The company did not care about customer service. Because theft was such a major issue, they were obsessed with loss prevention. District managers were most domineering and negative managers I found in the business and I have been in retail for 30 years. Basic philosophy of the business was great but when DSG purchased the company, it was all downhill. As management you were forced to work 75-80 hours a week or live in fear of your job.
