Pros

Staff and management are great to work with. A lot of really great students. One of the best places for a group fitness instructor to work because the manager is so easy to work for.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about the gym or the management. Most of the students are really great, but some get a little picky because there are some really great instructors that teach there.

Pros

Free membership. Commission on top of salary (although salary is minimum wage and commission ranges from $5-$20 (i.e., not much).

Cons

Hourly plus minor commission ($5-$20). I guess it's good if you don't have a college degree or need to earn some general work experience, but as a college graduate who used it while transitioning into a new city and looking for employment, I found that upper management didn't really care about servicing unhappy customers and employees. They could really step up their game.

Pros

GREAT staff, free gym membership, relatively laid back in comparison to other jobs, and little micromanaging.

Cons

Terrible, terrible pay. Shame on Gold's Gym. The corporation makes MORE than enough money, yet they pay their front desk and fitness counselors earn ONE DOLLAR OVER MINIMUM WAGE. Gym members are frequently AWFUL and MISERABLE people to interact with. These gym members have unhappy, unfulfilling lives, and they will take it on you. You'll deal with very difficult, miserable, and inconsiderate gym members on a daily basis.
