Pros

GT provides great collaborations and opportunities for all students, faculty, and staff. Students have opportunity to receive a strong education. Many schools, professors are well funded for research in a variety of fields. Fun, diverse student body.

Cons

Low pay with no raises, students must pay high fees annually, hard to deal with large departments - some are very poorly managed.

Pros

Great faculty for student employees. The faculty and graduate students in the chemical engineering department are eager to teach the students and help them past graduation.

Cons

Minimal payment ($10/hr) no matter how long you have been working in your lab. I also believe that there is a 10 or 20 hour maximum that you can work, limiting your paycheck.

Lots of opportunity to work on cutting edge practices and software development, strong connections to companies that are large and matter, strong connections to individuals in the education and research world who know people all over.

Cons

Payment schedules are unreliable for undergraduate assistants. If you have time to sort through the various levels of paperwork you can get paid on time, but it is far too easy to slip through the cracks and then require a month to get back on track. Not good when it's your primary source of income. Frequently asked to work a rough schedule or get things done on weekends.
