Pros

Georgia Tech offers unlimited opportunities for professional development: credit courses, noncredit courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, webinars, and more. Continuous professional development is highly stressed and employees are granted the opportunity to take full advantage of those learning opportunities.

Cons

Like any large institution, sometimes the bureaucracy limits the rate of innovation and constrains employee initiatives at times, but not unduly so.

Pros

Access to great research projects, good support from the administration, especially for international students. The tuition discount is well worth getting the job as well. The nature of the work will vary depending on which department you work for, of course, but there are many opportunities for grad student assistants to work with other research groups and collaborate.

Cons

It can be hard to balance the RA work with your class work, and Tech is notorious for a deeply invested work culture.
