Pros

people, people, people are the top three positives of General Mills (at WHQ, plants, sales offices and international locations)

Cons

advancement / retention decisions more based on internal network than value creation and delivery of results; diversity of work and leadership / management styles does not seem to be a consideration

Pros

Some really great people and the ability to do actual marketing in Canada.

Cons

Some senior people who have no idea what it is like to manage anywhere else and are extremely controlling. Managing up is often a major part of the job description. That is probably a nice way of saying you have to suck up and say yes a lot.

Pros

Super smart people to work with, great pay and benefits. I actually think the senior leaders are excellent.

Cons

Two 800+ person layoffs in the last 2.5 years leaves little to be optimistic about in the near term. Core of the companies issues are structural, American consumer has less money to spend on food, General Mills selling high priced processed food is no man's land; not fresh and not cheap
