Pros

General Mills has a mission to nourish lives. This mission comes to life in the communities in which they do business as well as global communities that need nourishing. There is also a desire to nourish the lives of employees and, of course, consumers.

Cons

General Mills is a very risk averse, cautious, slow to move company. This shows up in speed to market with new products - truly innovative thinking and ideas get engineered to be safer, more comfortable and execution is slow. This risk averse culture also causes many employees to feel like they can't be authentic if they don't fit the "mold" that is comfortable to leaders/decision-makers. It's very difficult to join General Mills as an experienced hire - what you've done prior to General Mills is not valued.
