Pros

Innovative community. The company's Community of Interests allow members to share their latest in technology innovation as well as the latest in the industry. First class colleagues and open environment to share thoughts, ideas, and best practices. Company also encourages self-improvement, technical courses, and certifications to enable its employees to be high performers who take pride in the work. The company also values diversity at all levels, making everyone feel a part of the team. My wife past away this past year and my supervisor gave me incredible support, as well as the company's resources to help my family through this difficult time.

Cons

There is not a GDIT office where I live; therefore, working from home is my only option. I don't consider this a huge con, because I like the flexibility of being a remote worker.

Pros

Cyber was spelt correctly on their ads. I doubt leadership nor marketing understands what cyber means. Also, no one cares about government contractor ads they see at airports or subway stops. Amy Gilliland, the CEO, posts cute LinkedIn quotes to try to prove GDIT’s relevance. Too bad these quotes were copied from 1990’s era management textbooks. No one cares about outdated LinkedIn posts either.

Cons

HR and Employee Relations are severely incompetent. Security and ethics violations are ignored when reported. Leadership cares more about revenue over ethics and security violations. GDIT must need the revenue to pay for all that advertising. Benefits are terrible when compared to competitors. Recruiting is very poor. One of my project managers had to wait a few months for recruiting to get its act together so he could convert from a temp to perm. I almost lost him because of their incompetence. Also, GDIT is competing with Microsoft, Google, and Amazon for talent. Amy’s cute little quotes don’t bridge the gap between GDIT and those firms. No employee stock ownership plan. Everyone else has a stock ownership plan. With a vesting schedule, it could improve employee retention. Glorified body shop; if your contract is not renewed, the only retention strategy is to land on another contract. It is humorous when GDIT promotes all these capabilities but doesn’t have the staff to execute the day-to-day activities. Scratch my last comment on employee retention. Too much money spent on meaningless ads that should go to benefits, training, or staff retention. MilCloud is a piece of junk. GDIT had to resort to AWS since it was so useless. All that money wasted developing that polished turd.
