The "company with a soul" has sold it
Pros
Pay is usually fairly good
Cons
- You will be expected to use your personal cell phone for work without being reimbursed. - Government work has an incredible amount of red tape making it hard to get anything done quickly. If you haven't worked in government contracting previously you may find this frustrating. - The company is known for having very poor internal IT (Example - GDIT IT had mandatory reboots in the middle of the day to update rarely used PDF software. Another Example: GDIT uses one of the most popular and easy-to-use travel and expense reporting tools, but their implementation turned it into an absolute nightmare to use. Some employees refuse to travel due to expense report difficulty. - HR is inept and uses half-implemented tools. Use Workday or don't! - Meetings at GDIT are frequently a meandering mess with no goals or agendas sent in advance. - The government customers will protect their employees whether they are competent or not. The result is often the customer blaming the contractors instead of their own people. - GDIT management worships at the altar of government dollars and will always side with the government customers rather than supporting GDIT employees. Expect to be thrown under the bus frequently by GDIT management if in a customer-facing role. - The company claims to be “the company with a soul” but they have clearly sold their soul for the government money.
