Pros

I wanted to take a quick moment to express my sincere appreciation to Ms. Miller from the Internal Mobility team. From day one of my job search, she has been incredibly supportive—using every available resource to assist me and guide me in the right direction. I’m truly grateful for her professionalism, guidance, and the valuable career advice that helped me secure a new opportunity I had been pursuing for some time. I’m excited to share that I’ve been hired as a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to support SCITLS project . Thank you, Sara, for your patience, dedication, and professionalism.

Cons

Thanks to the dedicated team who guided me through the process, including my recruiter, Media Salhi, everything went smoothly.

Pros

Pretty easy job to learn and complete. Very blue collar work for being in the realm of IT. Warren was an awesome supervisor and it was great working under him. Never had any issues going to appointments or calling in sick (if I was sick). Most of the job was layer 1 troubleshooting and doing various network infrastructure projects that came from leadership. It's pretty laid back when you aren't busy with tickets and projects so it's a good way to do some school work online. You sometimes terminate fiber, rj45 connectors, replace cables, media convertors, etc. Basically you are a cable dawg

Cons

You don't get to CLI onto any switches or routers. Low compensation for requiring TS/SCI Getting access to the various badging systems can take a while. You are required to take a one hour lunch every day. Typical M-F 40hrs per week with no variation in the work hours. No overtime allowed. Onsite only and you are expected to drive your own car to the various different sites (with no mileage reimbursement!). No real movement to advance once you've learned every site. Opportunities for advancement with GDIT are very slim. Also, you get paid like 10-20k less than the SMS primary on the same contract...
