Pros
Company's executive leadership is working on making the workplace more humane (a "company with a soul"). Managers are supposed to show greater personal attention to their direct reports by asking, "How are you, really?". The company tries to promote staying connected with other employees through internal community sites like ConnectPlus and encouraging Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
Cons
The reality is, mid-level managers are hyper-focused on running the business so concern for employee welfare is secondary. With so much pressure put on employees to deliver, there isn't much incentive to socialize either during or outside of work.
