Pros

not easy to drum up anything - its a solid corporate environment with all the drawbacks that come with that

Cons

one of the coldest, most clinical, unpersonal, austere working places I have ever been a part of. management is distant and uncaring. it constantly shuns the ambitions and efforts of women and people of color who strive for advancement. unsurprisingly, the HR department doesn't look out for the worker bees and resists any noble intention to help newbies integrate into the workforce while showing favoritism and enabling hostile work environments to fester. no one knows how to communicate internally on anything. of course this miserable state of affairs trickles down from the senior management team - and the very top of the co. I would also say you're a mere cog here in a big wheel and not a person. if youre looking for a place to advance your career thru hard work, get respected and treated fairly, and enjoy the people you work with and have a decent work habitat, GDIT is absolutely NOT the place for you.

Pros

Telework and make my own hours.

Cons

The change in VP has been devastating for the investigators . They randomly lay off people without letting their supervisors know until a few hours before and even then the supervisors aren’t told the names. The VP said he had the best of the best after the June lay off and said that there were to be no lay offs in the future. That was a lie.

Pros

There are no positive words to say about GDIT

Cons

The CIO openly admitted that she has NO background in IT! The Senior Leadership is shady in that they will stab you in the back and smile in your face. They expect you to know what happened in meetings about your project even though they DON'T invite you to meetings about your own project you are leading. The expectation of working hours is if you work 40-50 hours per week, you are doing the minimum. They want you to work 50-70+ hours per week and if you don't, they wonder why things don't get done. Expectations are NOT realistic at this company and they are continuously promising deliverables that are not realistic. Senior Leadership routinely ignore the advice of Project Engineers recommendations. When a project doesn't go the way they want it to, they then try the recommendation and take credit for the idea that wasn't theirs in the first place. This is common mantra across the board at GDIT.
