Pros

Manager was amazing Project was decently fulfilling Worklife balance was excellent, like 100/100 perfect score, no joke Labs were a mess, I got to help make them better which was nice Very diverse workforce, I got to work with tons of women and folks whose English wasn't great, which helped me learn to communicate more effectively

Cons

They laid me and 16 other people off 3 weeks before Christmas (lmao) Defense contract work is always a crapshoot, if the work isn't won, you're out on the street Your program might be mismanaged, I got lucky(ish) Job duties took a while to align with advertised duties Salaries are designed to be uncompetitive to keep wages low Yearly raises are awarded on a merit system (up to your manager) Only so many above average raises handed out every year

Pros

Growing company, with numerous opportunities to hone your craft. Incredible product, and global impact. Excellent benefits, including full health benefits, education reimbursement, 9/80 work week, gyms in many buildings (a dedicated exercise area with two baseball diamonds, a soccer field, and more coming soon), and managers/co-workers are more than pleasant to work with.

Cons

Growing pains as the company continues scaling in size, manual and outdated processes being digitized and automated. Not very fast-paced (though some may consider this a pro).

Pros

GA-ASI is the kind of place that whole families go to work for. They are really not in the practice of firing anyone save for the extreme under performers. They spare no expense when it comes to outfitting your office as you feel you need in order to perform your duties.

Cons

Politics. Unprofessional management staff. Families work there, so favoritism is constant and apparent. Certain Engineering disciplines still behave as though this is the wild West with very little documentation and little to speak of in the way of standardized business practices. HR crawls at a snail's pace so don't make any plans around your start date or around any promised promotions/pay increases.
