Pros

Stable, growing, nice campus, expanding service portfolio

Cons

GA is what happens when consultants and seminars are considered viable solutions to actual experience. It’s kind of like a puzzle where almost all of the pieces are there but not actually connected. That connection would be people with actual experience doing tasks, creating or managing processes and people. Instead we have people without that experience attending webinars or asking a consulting firm how to do something they’ve never done before and executive management telling them to have a go at it. That approach can make sense with companies smaller than 5,000 people and you gotta wear multiple hats. We’re at 15,000 and this amateur business needs to stop.

Pros

Amazing technology, great, dedicated, talented people, opportunities for internal advancement abound both upward and laterally. Many employees with long tenures which speaks to numerous reasons why people join and stay. Has a company funded retirement plan (in addition to 401k)...who hears of that these days?

Cons

Privately held so resistant to pressures that publicly traded companies with stockholders must respond to, processes, procedures and adoption of efficiency and productivity enhancing advancements in some areas years behind. Change happens but often too slowly to maximize the full benefits. More like closing the barn door after the horse is gone type of thing.
