Pros

40 hour work weeks are common. Promotions are easy, more based on time vs actual accomplishments.

Cons

Management/governance is autocratic for Aeronautical Systems, nearly all decisions are made by one or two people who are dinosaurs.

Pros

- WLB is good. - 9/80 schedule

Cons

- Low Pay. SW2 will make 80-100k? - Tech is not there. Will be working on C/C++ from 1998, so not Modern C++ - Outdated processes like SVN, no scrum, CI/CD, or unit tests. Only manual integration tests - Code Reviews are almost non-existent - Have to keep going into office when there is COVID, so pretty unsafe and gives insight into upper management’s priorities - Raises are small(3-7%) and expect like a 2k bonus - Cafeteria is pretty overpriced. They say it’s “subsidized”, but it costs 10+ a meal. - Work is in Poway, so that absolutely blows too

Pros

Nice people, 9x80 schedule, they generally care about employees, usually good work- life balance. Moderate pay to start, but very small increases there after.

Cons

HR leadership is completely ineffective, unavailable, don't allow their highly capable teams to make any decisions, and they hold on to actions and requests for many many weeks. They don't communicate (HR employees are seemingly always the last to know what's going on). We are on the mid to low end of pay, no career development. Reports to legal, who have minimal employment law background and won't engage with HR but many actions have to go through them.
