Full time positions are salaried with decent benefits. Your experience will vary significantly based on the leadership at your school. Gaston County Schools occasionally funds additional trainings and learning opportunities for school counselors.

Cons

My particular school put a lot of pressure on its counselors to be actively involved in student discipline. There aren't a lot of opportunities to grow in leadership skills.
