Pros

The Gap typically hires friendly associates that are easy to get along with.

Cons

Early hours for anyone working in operations/logistics. Sales associates are pressured to sell an increasing amount of Gap (credit) cards regardless of amount sold. Store level managers constantly push for harder work regardless of what was actually accomplished.

Pros

Once you understand the job it is very very easy to do. the job will always be there because the systems are designed so poorly there will always be something that breaks

Cons

-Repetitiveness of the job -It does not matter how hard you work or how good you are at your job you professional career is all base on popularity -It really is high school but people's professional and financial security are at stake -It i a well know fact in the office that one individual slept with a manager/supervisor to get a promotion -you schedule can get changed with little to know notice from a start of 7 am to 2 am for "business needs" without even consulting you - there is a lot of pressure from management to work bad hours and overtime

Pros

- Entry level management training - Paid parking in urban areas (managers only) - Offers health insurance (managers only)

Cons

- Unrealistic merchandising workloads. - High employee turn-over. - Upper management plays favorites. - Falls short on designs and does not appeal to the masses; limited market; too niche. - Product is too expensive for the average consumer, thus creating unrealistic selling expectations for store managers set by regional/ headquarter management to play catch up. - Recruiters sell false promises of creative freedom (merchandising POV); entirely cookie cutter; corporate driven.
