Pros

Great Medical benefits. Great vacation benefits, 8 paid holidays and 2 floating a year. The clothes discount was another huge plus. Each employee gets50% of on 6 peices of Gap or Banana Republic full priced clothes, per month. Unlimited 30% at all 3 brands for the employee and their immediate family. The company really stresses community involvement for all employees. They even have an annual award thats company wide for service. The winner gets $50K for their orginization and an additional 2 weeks paid vacation to work on your service project. Very casual dress code. Jeans and khakis are the norm there. Flip flops and sandals are also acceptable.

Cons

Lack of upward mobility if you don't work at the corporate HQ in SF.

Pros

In depth staff training and development, not only for the front line staff but management development, as well. The print resources for product knowledge training is always very helpful, including for managers. Growth potential within the company is a positive as well. The employee discount is a plus.

Cons

The erratic changes, including, but not limited to changes in field management structure, price changes, merchandising changes that conflict what is best for the retail location. Exceptionally long work hours and resistance to grant earned vacation time. Also that the company has a less than desirable opinion from environmental groups and human rights organizations.

Pros

4 week vacation from the start, cool work environment at the new Old Navy building in Mission Bay, flexibility with work schedule and PTO, industry leader, strong presence in industry

Cons

Very strong culture is almost oppressive and brain washing. Must have passion for Retail Industry. Team mentality can sometimes hinder progress. Goals across organization are not aligned, causing energy wasted on internal battles rather than working towards the same thing. Needs to simplify, fast paced (sometimes too fast)
